Office – Enable Copy and Paste

Effective October 15, 2026 · Extension version 1.1.0

The publisher does not collect, sell, or receive your extension data. Processing takes place in your browser or on your device.

01 / Purpose

What this extension does

Enables clipboard copy, cut, paste, text selection, and context-menu operations in web office editors and restricted web pages.

This policy applies to the Office – Enable Copy and Paste Manifest V3 extension distributed by the Modulus Tools publisher.

02 / Data handling

Information used by the extension

The extension works with text selections and clipboard actions in webpages. When you copy selected text on a page where it runs, it records that selection in local snippet history. Copied text can contain personal or sensitive information.

The extension has no publisher-operated account system, advertising tracker, analytics SDK, or remote analytics endpoint. We do not use extension data to profile you or sell it to advertisers.

03 / Local storage

What stays on your device

Per-site settings and recent copied selections are saved using chrome.storage.local. History retains up to 15 distinct snippets, with up to 500 characters per snippet. Clipboard actions also use your system clipboard.

How long it is kept

Recent snippets remain until replaced by newer selections, cleared using the popup's Clear History action, or removed by uninstalling the extension. Preferences remain until changed or the extension is removed. Your operating system controls clipboard retention.

04 / Permissions

Access, with a purpose

Browser permissions support the extension’s stated features. Here is why each declared permission is needed.

storage
Stores per-site preferences and recent clipboard snippets locally.
clipboardRead
Supports paste operations in web office editors.
clipboardWrite
Supports copy and cut actions and copying saved snippets.
contextMenus
Provides clipboard actions in the context menu.
Host access — all websites
Restores clipboard, selection, and context-menu operations on webpages.
05 / Third parties

Network requests and data sharing

Clipboard contents and snippet history are not uploaded to the publisher. A webpage you paste into may process that text under its own privacy policy, just as it would with an ordinary paste action.

We do not sell or share extension user data with advertising, data brokerage, or analytics providers. Extension data is used only for the disclosed features, in accordance with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

06 / Your choices

You are in control

You can change available preferences through the extension’s popup or options page and manage site access in Chrome’s extension settings. Removing the extension removes its extension storage; files you downloaded, bookmarks you created, and your system clipboard are managed separately by you and your browser or operating system.

Local extension storage is not a secure vault. Avoid copying or retaining sensitive information on a shared device. If this policy changes, we will update the effective date on this page and disclose material changes to data practices as required.

07 / Contact

Questions about your privacy?

Contact Modulus Tools at support@modulustools.com. If you email us, we receive the information you choose to include so we can respond. This correspondence is separate from the extension’s local data processing. Do not send passwords, private recordings, or sensitive browsing content.
