DownAlbum

Effective October 15, 2026 · Extension version 1.1.0

The publisher does not collect, sell, or receive your extension data. Processing takes place in your browser or on your device.

01 / Purpose

What this extension does

Collects and batch-downloads high-resolution images from photo albums and image galleries on the active webpage.

This policy applies to the DownAlbum Manifest V3 extension distributed by the Modulus Tools publisher.

02 / Data handling

Information used by the extension

When you start a capture, DownAlbum scans the active page for image URLs, image dimensions, captions, the page title, and hostname. This metadata is used to create a local gallery for review and export.

The extension has no publisher-operated account system, advertising tracker, analytics SDK, or remote analytics endpoint. We do not use extension data to profile you or sell it to advertisers.

03 / Local storage

What stays on your device

The most recently captured album metadata is saved using chrome.storage.local for the Gallery Viewer. Downloads and exported album files are saved to your device.

How long it is kept

The latest album metadata remains until replaced by a new capture or the extension is removed. Downloaded and exported files remain until you delete them.

04 / Permissions

Access, with a purpose

Browser permissions support the extension’s stated features. Here is why each declared permission is needed.

storage
Passes captured album metadata to the local Gallery Viewer.
downloads
Downloads selected images and exported album files to your device.
activeTab
Scans the current tab after you start an album capture.
scripting
Runs the album harvester when you request a capture.
tabs
Opens the Gallery Review and Batch Export page.
Host access — all websites
Resolves image URLs and loads gallery previews from image hosts.
05 / Third parties

Network requests and data sharing

Gallery previews and image downloads request files from their original image hosts. Exported HTML can reference online image URLs, so opening it may also contact those hosts. Image hosts handle normal request information under their own policies. Album metadata is not uploaded to the publisher.

We do not sell or share extension user data with advertising, data brokerage, or analytics providers. Extension data is used only for the disclosed features, in accordance with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

06 / Your choices

You are in control

You can change available preferences through the extension’s popup or options page and manage site access in Chrome’s extension settings. Removing the extension removes its extension storage; files you downloaded, bookmarks you created, and your system clipboard are managed separately by you and your browser or operating system.

Local extension storage is not a secure vault. Avoid copying or retaining sensitive information on a shared device. If this policy changes, we will update the effective date on this page and disclose material changes to data practices as required.

07 / Contact

Questions about your privacy?

Contact Modulus Tools at support@modulustools.com. If you email us, we receive the information you choose to include so we can respond. This correspondence is separate from the extension’s local data processing. Do not send passwords, private recordings, or sensitive browsing content.
